Time for the Jolly Jumper!!

Vera, 11 weeks old, for the first time in the Jolly Jumper.

Popular visitor

Mormor is now here to give us a hand with the kids and Noah is over the moon to have a her staying in his room. On Tuesday morning when he woke up, he somehow didn't see her in the guest bed next to his. He ran into our bedroom and asked "where is mormor?" - even before saying good morning to us. However, he still wants to go to daycare and I believe that it might have something to do with the fact that it's so much more fun to be dropped off and picked up by someone else than us ;-). He is very proud when his mormor comes to dagis and all his friends get to meet her.
When at home Mr. Chatterbox keeps us busy with funny stories whilst Vera wants cuddles and be around us in what ever we do. It's a big job to look after those two and me on the crouches and I think mormor sleeps well at night. So does Vera;

Guardian angels

On Wednesday, I had a big scare - an accident with the pram. I was walking Noah to dagis and in a downhill slope I got a spin on the pram. During the winter when the snow is melting and freezing up again, the councils pour massive amounts of gravel onto the roads and pavements to prevent people from slipping on the ice. When the snow and ice are gone, before they have had a chance to clean it up, the roads are then full of gravel which in itself can be really slippery. So the pram spinned and flew away, did a couple of turns and ended up upside down, with Vera in it. I also fell on the gravel and in the fall threw myself after the pram trying to catch it. Amazingly Vera was not hurt - she was still in her little cocoon, not even a scratch on her! I, on the other hand managed to hurt myself pretty badly and was bleeding and I quickly realized that I was in need of stitches. Next to me was a little Noah, chocked as he had witnessed the whole accident. He was very sad and didn't know how to act. Somehow I managed to get to daycare to drop off Noah and then get myself to the the clinic. Here I got cleaned up, bandage on my hand, stitches in my knee, a tetanus injection and a prescription of antibiotics. You would think it would end happily here and that it would all heal quick and easy. But as the anesthetics and adrenaline wore off I started to get into some serious pain and by the time the sun went down, I could not walk. Today is Sunday and I'm still unable to move around, not even on crutches. Both the hand and the knee is very infected and the stitches are more in the way of the healing process than anything. Help is on the way - my parents are on their way home from southern Europe so that my mum can stay with us this upcoming week to assist with children and housework - mormor will arrive tomorrow. I thank our guardian angels that watched over Vera and that Noah is feeling better. What a week...

Weekly update

This week has been busy with lots of fun. I visited work for a bit of a catch up and to show off little Vera of course. Also, a first visit to Öppna Förskolan which was really nice - fully renovated just two months ago so a really lovely place to hang out to meet other bubs and mums.
On Thursday, we spend the day with Annelie, just the three of us girls and on Friday we had a lunch in the city with one of our good friends here in Gothenburg. And as usual, the weekend has been spent on just pure family fun :-).

Dinner time

At the dinner table we never have our hands free anymore - little Vera truly insists on sitting in our laps to observe the routine of dinner time. So imagine the struggle when home alone with the kids; cooking dinner and trying to keep it civilised around the table when it's time to eat with Noah, all with one hand only. Since Vera is so strong in her neck we decided to take down the high chair from the attic to see whether if she liked it or not. And guess if she did.. Even though all strapped down with muslin wraps to keep her sturdy, she was all smiles and Noah and I could enjoy a nice meal together.

Family outing

Saturday and great weather, what better way than to spend the day at the newly renovated playground Plikta in the big city park Slottsskogen? As both kids had woken up very early today, by 8AM we had homemade and freshly baked bread ready for the picnic basket :-). So off we went to enjoy this very beautiful day together in the park.

In the late afternoon everyone was very tired from all the fresh air, except one little munchkin that happily watched TV with her big brother...

Blue dog plunges into the world elite

Yesterday it was a "family fun day" in the new built sports hall in the area where we live. We headed there for some arts and crafts activities, face painting, fika etc. Lots of fun and in the end of the afternoon we had a very pleased but tired blue dog with us home.
Also, as you can see by the photo to the down right on the collage, Noah has taken the plunge into the world elite..nah.. Today we visited the Volvo Museum and the Volvo Ocean Race & Volvo Golf Experience in Gothenburg. There you can get really close to the world-class golf and sailing competitions and learn heaps about Volvo, look at old and new vehicles and air crafts etc. Since Noah went there with preschool he hasn't stopped talking about it so today he got to take us there and show us what it was all about - our own private tour guide ;-)!
