The Spring is Here!!!

Perth is at its best when the spring arrives; green and lush and not too hot. After months of just plain old boring weather with rains and storms, the spring has finally arrived. Today we enjoyed a lovely BBQ down at the Swan Yacht Club, overlooking the river and the blue sky - all with a perfect temperature of 26 C. You gotta love it!

Afternoon nap

Do you know that feeling when your heart overflows with love, it just pours out? The feeling of vulnerability...you want to cocoon your loved ones and protect them forever... This afternoon I sighed and brought out my camera to capture that moment - I love my little family so much and feel so blessed...

Wrapping up

In the process of departing, all belongings are being sold off. We will use Noah's play room as our "second hand shop" at the big garage sale. Yesterday we cleared out the room to start preparing for it and Noah was happily helping out and carried the toys into his bedroom. And definitely it hits you when you see the room all empty - it is really happening! We are selling off everything, moving continent, leaving friends, routines and everything else that makes up life here and are starting fresh. Sad but liberating!

Off to Sweden We Go!

Hey, Hey, Hej!
Well as most of you already know, we have decided to make to the move to sunny (erh....... rainy) Sweden. What may be puzzling you is why? Why leave a country that has such good weather (right now there are gail force winds and terrential rain outside), laid back attitude................blah, blah, blah. Well Australia is a great place, but for us moving to sweden is about being able to do the things we currently feel like we can't here. For example, buy a house, travel (places other than south-east Asia), save and both have the opportunity to work and have parental leave. Sure we will miss the blistering heat of summer where getting into a car feels like your taking part in the world sauna championships (an actual event!), and freezing cold bathroom floors in the middle of winter. We're swapping these for 3 hours of daylight in the middle of winter and the fact that we might have to plan our toilet breaks at work 6 weeks in advance. All jokes aside, we have weighed up all the issues and the best option for our family at this time is to try and live in Sweden for next 3-5 years, at least.

The last few months have been very busy and the upcoming months promise to be even busier. Our departure date has not been decided on but we know we want to leave by the end of October or early November. My visa has just been granted so it gives us the green light to start planning more definitively. It promises to be an exciting journey and hopefully a positive experience for all of us.
