1, 2, 3...

Life's hectic

~I started my own little business in early January and joined the team of ENJO consultants.
For those that aren't familiar with ENJO; what I promote/ sell is an alternative product (based on micro fiber technology) to using toxic chemical cleaners in the home. It has a significant impact on having a healthier home and reducing our eco-footprint, helping to limit chemicals poured down the drain into our waterways, saving water when cleaning as well as preventing littering of our earth with unwanted plastic packaging. I'm absolutely loving it, especially as I can plan work after family, and not the other way around.

~Shawn is going back to university. In fact, the course commences tomorrow! He has enrolled in a Graduate Diploma of Education as he wants to become a primary teacher. As it's a Grad Dip it will only take 1,5 year and he is done. Meanwhile studying, he will continue his job as a Personal Trainer.

~We are moving house on Friday! The lease where we currently live runs out so we are now moving to a place about 20 minutes south of the city. There will be an adjustment period for us as we are used to live very central. However, the house we are moving to is well worth it as it's almost brand new and has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, an office, media entertainment room and a big living room. I'm sure we will enjoy this new lifestyle of spacious living!

~After a year of back pain where of 2 weeks in hospital not being able to move, no answers from doctors, many massages and physio treatments I have been introduced to a lady who carries out Bowen Therapy. And I believe that I finally have met someone that has found out what might be causing my bad back! Bowen massage is a cross fibre muscle release technique that strives to find the origin of a problem and is therefore very effective for muscular-skeletal problems. I had not been on her table for more than 10 seconds when she pointed out to me that me hips are dis aligned about 7 cm. This is very likely to be the cause of my lower back pain. After only one session I feel much better so I'm very hopeful that after a few treatments I'll be feeling back to normal :-).

~Noah is a real fire cracker with lots of energy! It seems that he is already changing to the habit of only one little cat nap per day, hence leaving mummy with no time to do chores around the house. And he is busy when awake, using the new skill of walking which he now masters very well. Crawling is almost out and it's a tall sturdy little man walking around exploring the house.

It is a funny little one to have around and the days are filled with laughter. The
last two months we have been singing together, copying animal sounds and pointing and spelling out things like cars, ducks, tigers (not real ones of course), birds, foods, drinks etc. Noah's words are still mainly Swedish, however he seems to understand more and more English each week. Recently Noah started dance, and he loves dancing. Even when I sing to him, he wiggles and stamps his feet in joy!

The other weekend something quite interesting and funny happened. We were outside playing in the grass and an airplane flew by. Noah got really excited, pointed up in the air at the plane and screamed "DUCK!". It confirmed to me that Noah knows the features of the animals he has learnt and knows that the only animal that flies is the bird. Hence this metal looking creature in the air must also be a bird!? Amazing how little brains work!

Toddlerfest

On Tuesday we visited Scitech Discovery Centre. It's currently a toddlerfest going on there with entertaining science activities for children up to five years of age, designed to inspire and educate. The highlight of the day was when we were patting the baby animals!

Australia Day

26 January is the official national day of Australia. On the eve of Australia Day there are always sky works and they are best seen from the city, especially the river banks. We are very lucky as we have friends whom live on the 17th floor on the foreshore, overlooking the city and the river. So guess where we headed in the late afternoon...? We relaxed with picnic bags and lots of wine while enjoying the view from their massive glass balcony.
Australia Day 2009 turned out to be very special memory for the three of us as Noah decided to take walking seriously and took many and very steady steps that day!
